An initiative by Rose Educational Society – Umang Fellowship Chapter 4, under the management of Rose Youth Point
The most meaningful journeys begin with purpose — and Explore Lyari was one such unforgettable experience. Organized under Umang Fellowship Chapter 4, this initiative aimed to showcase the true spirit of Lyari — beyond stereotypes and headlines — highlighting its heritage, strength, and vibrant community life.
Inspiring Opening at Kakri Ground Sports Complex
The journey began with a powerful opening ceremony at Kakri Ground Sports Complex. We were honored by the presence of Nasir Kareem (Town Chairman Lyari), Anwar Ali Bhatti (Director Rose Educational Society), Ashgar Baloch (Secretary Sindh Boxing Association), and Abid Brohi, who shared motivating words that set the tone for a day rooted in hope, unity, and cultural appreciation.
Their presence reaffirmed the purpose of the initiative: empowering youth through exposure, dialogue, and meaningful interaction.
Discovering Culture at Lea Market
The fellows then explored Lea Market, immersing themselves in Lyari’s rich historical and commercial heritage. The vibrant streets, local vendors, and traditional businesses offered a deeper understanding of the community’s economic and cultural backbone.
A Warm Welcome at Mehrgarh Safe Space
At Mehrgarh Safe Space, participants experienced the true warmth of Lyari with a traditional local breakfast. The soulful drum circle led by Nauroz Ghani created a magical moment — a celebration of culture, rhythm, and unity that brought everyone together.
Beyond the Headlines at Cheel Chowk
At Cheel Chowk Lyari Heritage, participants explored the area in real time — witnessing daily life, resilience, and strong community bonds. It was an opportunity to see Lyari through lived experiences rather than media narratives.
Honoring Sporting Legacy at Gabol Park
In Gabol Park, locals shared inspiring football stories, reminding participants of Lyari’s legendary reputation in sports. The passion for football and boxing remains a symbol of pride and identity for the community.
Stories of Heritage and Diversity
The journey continued at Dreams House, where Ramzan Baloch shared the inspiring history of Lyari. A diversity tour of the slaughterhouse area followed, offering participants new perspectives and a deeper understanding of everyday realities.
At Kiran Foundation, the fellows were deeply moved by the organization’s impactful journey in education and community development.
The warmth continued at Abdullah Haroon Ashyana, where powerful stories of empathy, resilience, and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone present.
Closing Reflections at Rose Youth Point
The day concluded at Rose Youth Point — a place we proudly call home. Over lunch, participants engaged in reflection and an honest feedback session. They left with new insights, unforgettable memories, and stronger connections.
